My Story — Brandon Plattner

I was born and raised in Peoria, IL, graduated from Richwoods High School, and have always been an advocate for the Greater Peoria community. I’ve been actively participating in finance for more than 25 years with a full-service financial service firm right here in Peoria. When I’m not helping families at Plattner Asset Management, my wife and I enjoy traveling, biking, and spending time with family and friends.
My journey with CWTC began around 10 years. I give credit to Rick Stephenson, who was a champion of the work CWTC does. He did a great job sharing the mission with the community. One of the groups we’re part of has held fundraisers for CWTC throughout the years as well, and I was honored to tour the facility and meet the great people who work there, as well as the amazing staff. Executive Director Patti Gratton is 100% invested and leads a great team. After seeing all this, I knew it was a worthy cause, one that plays an important role in the growth and development of our community and many people who otherwise may not have these opportunities.
The remarkable consumers supported by CWTC are thankful for the chance to be a part of the community, and their work makes a tremendous impact. CWTC creates the pathways to help make those dreams come true and that makes my soul smile.
Seeing the faces of people whose lives CWTC is impacting is incredibly gratifying; the workers, staff, and the unseen families who are so thankful their loved ones have a safe place to experience their lives to the fullest. To know we are a small part of that is incredible. No matter who you are or what resources you have available, everyone can make a difference for someone else — time, insight, financial resources. The question is how are those resources best used? For me, it is in seeing and helping people who are grateful for the chance to work and be a part of the world around them. And CWTC is helping make this possible for all those whom their programs support.
